The Week in Links

Welcome to another round-up of some of my favorite links from this past week! As always, a huge thank you to everyone who has stopped by this blog, submitted suggestions (I swear I am actually going to write about them very soon!), and sent in notes of encouragement. I've been feeling the love from a lot of you lately, and I really can't say enough how much I appreciate it. Apologies if I haven't yet responded an email or a Tweet - I'm still new at this blogging thing and haven't quite figured out yet the right way to balance work, writing, life, and correspondence. I'll get the hang of it some day soon, hopefully!

• As someone's whose job title includes the words "media relations," I really enjoyed this thoughtful and in-depth article by Andrew Careaga on his blog about how to do media relations in a world where the "middle man" is quickly disappearing.

• Meet Content has a nice recap of several presentations from the recent HighEdWeb conference, put together by Rick Allen and Georgy Cohen. Wish I could have been there.

• My most popular post this week: TCU's great example of celebrating college rankings

• Here's a recap of last week's CASE Twitter chat about integrating social media onto websites.  Oh how I wish my college's website had a CMS that allowed for some of the awesome things a lot of schools out there are doing. Maybe one day.

• If there were an "I agree with this so much it hurts!" button, I would use it for this post by Scott Stratten about "newsjacking." Spoiler: STOP IT!

That's it for this week... I jacked up my pinkie finger today after a post-work double-header of kickball and softball, and typing is way more painful than I thought it would be. It's too dark to hunt-and-peck with my index fingers, so I'm pulling the plug.  :)

But not before I leave you with this cool slice of Swedish electropop. Enjoy!
