Great Social Media Idea: Graduation Day Video

Still catching up on a bunch of wonderful submissions... today I'm going to share a great graduation day video sent in by Dan Cassavaugh of Georgia Gwinnett College.

It's blows my mind to be thinking of graduation here in January, but it's actually really smart to start making a content plan for commencement time. I'm not sure if you're workflow is similar to mine, but man-a-livin' I sure get busy as the spring semester winds to a close, and I always end up not able to do as much as I'd like for graduation because I'm stuck dealing with all sorts of other events and end-of-year stuff.

So, it's not a bad idea to start thinking ahead, and here's a good place to start:

Here's Dan to provide some context:

Sometimes in the public relations/public affairs world, we don't give the students enough of a voice. Graduation is an ideal time to capture students at their most euphoric. Here's a quick video we created within a couple hours of the ceremony ending.

I agree that it's great to give students a voice in a video like this, and I also think it's great to have something come out so quickly after the event. Students and parents are absolutely primed to be posting content about commencement on the same day, and rightfully so - they or someone they are related to just graduated college! They are bursting with pride and ready to share it.

It makes a lot of sense to give them something quickly that they can post, and a quick video like this is a great option.

Thanks, Dan, and good job Georgia Gwinnett content team!
