Music at Midweek: Velvet Underground

Lou Reed died on Sunday. I've been listening to his music pretty much non-stop since. I'm (sort of) young still, but it's strange how reflective and nostalgic his death has made me. So much of my formative high school, college, post-college years were spent with his music as the soundrack - either directly as the artist or indirectly as the inspiration.

My favorite singers and bands wouldn't exist as they are without him, my favorite movies have his songs in them, and my best friends know pretty much every word to all of his songs. Not only has he impacted me, he has impacted all the people I love, enjoy, and admire.

RIP, Lou.
